My girls love taking vitamins and they remind me every day that they need their vitamins. To them it’s like having candy because their vitamins taste good. And I’ll admit, occasionally when I give them their vitamins, I’ll take some too. (I’m not as good about taking vitamins as they are!) I am grateful that they enjoy taking them and they remind me. When the doctor asks me if I give them a multivitamin I say yes and they always chime in “when you remember”. Those are the moments where I miss them being small enough to not talk for themselves! Hey I’m a busy mom and I forgot from time to time.
My point to all this is I’m so happy that companies like Flintstones make them yummy so the kids want to take them because lets face it no kid eats all the vitamins they need in food every day. The Gummies are a huge hit in my house and I’m not allowed to give them anything else any more. And they do taste good, I’ll attest to that!
But making yummy tasting vitamins isn’t the only thing I love about Flintstones vitamins. They are also helping to provide those without the means of getting vitamins, to get them. Read on and you’ll see what I’m talking about.
FLINTSTONES Vitamins is one brand that’s focusing on charity this season. When you hear the FLINTSTONES Vitamins name, you probably think of their iconic jingle “10 million strong and growing.” The children’s multivitamin brand has been dedicated to helping kids grow strong and healthy for more than 40 years and, in that same spirit, they’ve now teamed up with Vitamin Angels to launch 10 Million Stronger – a charitable initiative aimed at delivering essential vitamin A to 10 million children worldwide suffering from vitamin A deficiency.
To kick off 10 Million Stronger, FLINTSTONES Vitamins will donate $300,000 to Vitamin Angels in 2012 to help fund essential vitamin A for more than 1 million children in need, but the brand needs your help! You and your readers can support 10 Million Stronger by making a donation of 25 cents or more at www.facebook.com/
Vitamin A deficiency is a serious health issue for children worldwide, and many may not know that it’s an underlying cause of child mortality and blindness. Two high-dose vitamin A capsules can provide one child with sufficient vitamin A for 12 months. In fact, a donation of just 25 cents will protect a child for a year.
Wow what a great cause and you don’t even need to donate much to help. If you have a few dollars to spare check out the Flintstones Vitamins Facebook page to find out how you can donate.
