I have a NEW product so share with you that I think is pretty cool actually. I am not always very good about flossing but I currently have Invasilign and if you don’t know anything about Invasilign, they are braces that you wear and remove (like a retainer) when you are going to eat or drink anything other than water. But then you must put them right back on once you are done. But before you put them on you have to brush your teeth and floss to make sure there is no food or liquid left on your teeth. From what I understand, the saliva in your mouth naturally rinses your teeth but with the Invasilign on, nothing gets to your teeth so you can easily form cavities if you don’t brush and floss before. So needless to say I am taking much better care of my teeth than I ever have before – and one thing I’m doing more than normal, is flossing.
So when I was contacted to see if I wanted to try the NEW Sunstar GUM EasyThread Floss I figured why not, especially since I’m flossing on such a regular basis as it is. This floss is a little difference than regular floss as it has stiff ends and then a more flexible “puffy” part in between. The stiff ends are designed to get into hard to reach places easier. I have a few crowns that are tough to get floss through and after trying this I can see how it’s helpful. But I can see even more how helpful it would be if I had regular wire braces. Those are all connected with wire so you can’t really go between the teeth. I never thought of that before but now I can see these would be a huge help because you could ‘thread’ them between your teeth with the stiff end and then once you pull it through the ‘puffy’ part can clean any plaque there might be. It’s a very interesting looking and working piece of floss but easy to use once you try it a few times.
