On November 16th Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment released Disney’s A Christmas Carol on DVD and Blu-Ray
. Robert Zemeckis directs this great interpretation of Charles Dickens’ beloved tale, A Christmas Carol. Jim Carrey stars as multiple characters including Scrooge alongside Gary Oldman (HarryPotter and the Order of the Phoenix), Collin Firth (Love Actually, The Accidental Husband, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason), Bob Hoskins (Who Framed Roger Rabbit) and Robin Wright (State of Play and Forrest Gump). The DVD and Blu-ray also include some great bonus features such as deleted scenes, a journey through the creative process of Disney’s A Christmas Carol and much more.
A Christmas Carol is one of my all time favorite Christmas movies. I watch it every year so I was very excited to receive a copy of A Christmas Carol with Jim Carrey! He is also one of my favorite actors and he did a fantastic job in this movie!! What I didn’t know beforehand is that it was a CGI animated movie. I think this is the perfect movie for this type of animation because of the special effects. The animation was incredible and the quality of the Blu-ray was astounding!
I also wasn’t sure if it would be good for my 6 year old so I watched it first. I had a feeling the ‘ghosts’ would really come to life in the animation and I was right. I jumped many times so she would not of done will with it, but perhaps at 8 or 9 she may enjoy it. The movie itself is excellent and I would imagine in 3D it would be even better!!
