I hate bugs, in the house and outside. One thing I like about winter is that a lot of them disappear during the cold months. But the minute the ground starts to warm up, they are back. The only time I’m brave when it comes to bugs is when my kids are around because I don’t want them to hate them like I do. So I put on a brave face and tell them “oh it’s just a bug, you are bigger than it” when really inside I’m thinking “OMG it’s gonna eat me!”. I know silly but I just don’t like them.
It’s nice out now so we are outside more, with the bugs of course. I don’t enjoy walking around barefoot in the grass because it could be full of bugs. We also have a really nice lawn that I’d like to keep looking nice. So products like the ones that AMDRO makes for the yard and home are perfect for us! And they are all super simple to use u don’t have to be a professional. I was able to use them myself, without the help of my husband.
When purchasing the AMDRO products you’ll need to get a PowerFlex Pest and Weed System 1 gal. tank plus sprayer (which is empty and costs about $6) and the cartridge of your choice. They sell the cartridges in packs of two for about $12. The sprayer is battery-powered but comes loaded with some batteries already. Since its battery-powered that tells me right away that it’ll work great. Depending on what you use, coverage could last from about 3 months but up to a year! So you can see the savings is great compared to the cost of having a service come to your house and do this for you! If you have more than one need (lets say indoor and outdoor pests) you can purchase more than one cartridge and use the same tank for both.
After you have the products just follow these Three Simple Steps:
- Fill the reusable one gallon tank with clean water
- Twist in one of four patent-pending cartridges in the sprayer
- Spray to treat target pests. You can quickly switch between projects by removing the cartridge, flushing the applicator for ten seconds with water from the tank and twisting in a new cartridge
Sounds pretty easy right? I love that you can switch out the cartridge so if you just have a small area to treat, you can treat it then remove the cartridge, close it up and put it away for next time. So you can totally do this right? You sure can.

I love that they’ve made these products so easy to use and while they are in a concentrated formula, you don’t have to use all of it at once. That’s just genius and such a money saver for us. I received a sample of each of their cartridges along with the PowerFlex system for my review. The first product I tried was the Home Pest Indoor Insect Killer. Remember how I said I hate bugs? Well the ones indoors get me the most because I can’t run away from them. Well I can, and I do but I would prefer to stop them from being there in the first place. The box lists several bugs that it kills including ants, millipedes, spiders, silverfish, earwigs, cockroaches, bees, house flies (saw one this morning yuck!) and so many more insects. I figured most of them are in the basement since that’s probably how they get in so I filled up the container with water and attached the Home Pest Indoor cartridge as instructed. I then pulled out the little tab in the battery compartment that is there when you purchased it and sprayed around the windows in the basement and the crevices in the area where our boiler and hot water tank are.
It was super easy and I was done within minutes. I did wear protective gloves just in case while putting it all together I spilled it, but I was able to do it without a drop. After I was done I unscrewed the cartridge and replaced the cover. I then stored it way up high where my kids can not reach it. I thought about spraying it in a few more areas of my house but I’m going to wait and see if I find anything in the next week or so first. It’s not like I have a lot of bugs in the house, but one here or there. I actually was thinking of spraying some around the openings of the air conditioners since we get bugs in that way, so I may try that.

Do not spray weedkiller if you know it’s going to rain the next day.
Use weed and feed, and stay on top of weeds.
For mosquitoes put some Listerine and water into a spray bottle and use it around your doors to keep the little critters away.
I see a weed and I just pluck it out! 🙂
I use a weed preventer early in the season and pull them if they still sprout.
I use vinegar on the weeds – it works sometimes, some are very stubborn and come back.
Spray around the door to prevent bugs from getting in the house.

My weeding tip is to wait til after a good soaking rain and then pull up weeds

We use weed and feed. I have to be careful with what and when we use any of these types of products because we have a dog and they could be harmful to him. He is an inside dog, but has to go out and loves to be outside running around on the grass. Thanks!

Use a powerful weed killer and always make sure to get the roots when you pull weeds out.
Pull or spray early, don’t let them get huge.
Nothing beats keeping a close eye on your garden!
We just try and keep up with the weeds before they start keeping up with us. Continuous weeding and spraying. Those weeds just love us. Since we are staying with his Mother, we have 2 homes to keep weeded.

It is very important to me to use natural/nontoxic products to deal with pests. I have found that sprinkling diatomaceous earth in the yard helps to keep fleas off of our pets.
