We are about half way through football season and tailgating is the thing to do this time of year. We have friends that have season tickets for the Patriots and they’ve had some good times tailgating over the years. This is SO easy and makes for a super tasty tailgate recipe with no cleanup or utensils needed:
Halftime Ham Handhelds
-leftover Cook’s Ham
-Herb flavored cream cheese or boursin cheese
-Bread and butter pickle chips
-Pretzel sticks
Spread the cream cheese or boursin cheese on one piece of ham, then top with a bread and butter pickle chip. Skewer the ham and pickle treat with the pretzel stick. Serve with honey mustard or ranch dressing for dipping–enjoy!
My tail-gating recipe is pizza with pineapple and ham–also a ham sub is quick and easy!! 🙂
ham and cheese sub sandwiches with all the fixings , or cubed up ham and scalloped potatoes
I love ham roll-ups with cream cheese and olives!
I take crecent rolls and put a couple pieces of ham with some shredded cheese on top! Roll up as bake as directed! YUMMY!
Not sure if this is a “tail-gating” recipe, but we love Italian subs with ham, salami, and pepperoni
My signature “Ham it up Egg Cups”–Combine eggs, leftover diced ham and any leftover veggies in a large bowl, then whisk until eggs are frothy. Pour into muffin tins and bake in oven…refrigerate overnight then reheat on the grill at the big game–perfect for an early tailgating party!
We love little personal pizzas made from flattened Pillsbury rolls and topped with pizza toppings- including ham of course!
Tropical Tailgate Tart:
Warm a flatbread or tortilla on your grill then, while warm, smear on cream cheese and layer with Cook’s ham slices, pineapple rings and a cherry on top! These can also be made the day before and reheated at the big game!
Ham Sliders is a fave and soooooooo easy. Biscuits, mustard, cheese and ham. These are good cold but wrapped in foil and put on the grill they are fantastic
Cuban sandwiches with leftover ham and pressed on the grill like a panini
I make a super tasty ham and cheddar skewer that I serve with honey mustard!
Cube up your leftover ham and then mix with mayo, celery and red peppers to make ham salad–you can serve it in a sandwich or, for tailgating fun, stuff the ham salad in hollowed out zucchinis to make ham salad boats or stuff ham salad into hollowed out peppers. They are really tasty and are great for any party, including a tailgate!
Karen, we don’t call them sliders but it’s basically the same thing. We like ham on dinner rolls or Hawaiian Sweet Rolls with mustard and a selection of different cheese or best of all mustard and pineapple. Yum!!!
Blessings…Tracy 🙂
A slice of ham on a hamburger. Makes a great tailgating sandwich!
This is not fancy or original, but I love ham and cheese sandwiches wrapped in foil and heated .
I like to make Ham rolls. Ham, cheese rolled in flaky dough and baked till golden color. Yum!
I like modified(by me) tomato sandwiches with ham.
Homemade mac and cheese… I just make a sauce out of any cheese I have in the house plus a brick of cream cheese. Mix it with a 16 ounce box of pasta and bake. yum!

I love making ham & egg casserole! It’s such an easy recipe: In a 9X13 pan, you place a cubed loaf of day old bread and sprinkle 2 cups of cubed ham and 2 cups of shredded cheese on top. I wisk 6 eggs and 2 cups of milk together, and pour it over the bread mixture. Cover and refrigerate overnight – then, bake uncovered for an hour at 300 degrees. 🙂
I sent you a picture of ham ‘n egg casserole. 🙂
