My next idea is for music lovers of years past.
If your significant other loves Bing Crosby, Glenn Miller, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, or countless others, sure you can hear their legendary voices and iconic songs on a near-perfect medium like digital recordings or satellite radio or whatever. This modern technology is undeniably progress if not perfection, but an old-fashioned record player such as this one gives the occasional crackle that brings authenticity to the listening experience.
And the best part is, this Crosley Vintage Record Player is on sale and just $39.00 (Reg. $90) shipped!
Maybe this is hopelessly romantic or overly nostalgic, but I think it actually adds a genuine replication of the listeners’ experience in the 1920s or 1930s, or 1940s. Maybe another way to think of this is watching a video or seeing a photo of a Chicago Bears/Green Bay Packers game from the 1930s or even the 1940s. Of course, you expect to see leather helmets and goalposts dangerously located at the goal line because that’s how it was back then. Modern helmets and instant replay would just be weird.
I have a feeling many of you have boxes of records in the attic or basement that once belonged to your grandparents or maybe great-grandparents. Dust them off! Bring them back…..authentically!
