Today CVS/pharmacy announced a new summer-long promotion to help us with the record-high gas prices, and deliver more value to shoppers. You will get free gas cards in exchange for purchasing specially marked items each week.
When you spend $30 on select products that will be specially marked in the weekly circulars and in-store, and you’ll earn a $10 Gas Card for FREE!!
Gas prices are so high right now that any way I can save is helpful. There will be a limit of (1) per person each week and the totals will not carry over from week to week, but I’m hoping there is a HUGE variety of items so it’s easy for us to earn the gas cards each week. You could potentially get $40 on gas a month!! (1 per week x 4 weeks).
Here is how it will work:
- Beginning May 22nd all qualifying products will be tagged with a “get free gas” icon to make them easily identifiable. Eligible products will rotate each week, giving shoppers greater flexibility to fill their carts with the essentials they shop for each week.
Once ExtraCare customers reach the $30 required purchase threshold, a special coupon will print on their receipt that can be redeemed immediately in store for a $10 gas card. If customers prefer to wait to redeem their coupon they have up to 30 days to do so. Limit one redemption per week for each ExtraCare cardholder
Will the products be listed in the circular also?
I sure hope they make this a good deal to use with coupons!!
“Limit one redemption per week for each ExtraCare cardholder”
If you can hold on to your coupon receipts for up to a month, can you turn in say five of them for a $50 gas card once a week? Or do they mean one $10 gas card redemption a week?
@Shell yes they will be marked in the weekly circular, from what I was told. I haven’t seen the circulars yet for this weekend.
@Alissabeth – I was thinking the same thing! I’m curious to how this will work for us!
@Gator Pam – I don’t know, good question. I will ask my contacts that and let you know!
Do you know if the the $30 pre-coupons like the Extra care bucks or post-coupon?
This will help pay the cost of running to different CVS’s for my weekly deals. They seem to be out of most sale items.
pretty good deal.
