Last Saturday Catherine McCord from Weelicious teamed up with Krusteaz and hosted a virtual baking party online. Perhaps you tuned it and even joined in on the baking? Well I did! Krusteaz sent me the below items to bake with and I had a lot of fun doing it and my family has been having a lot of fun eating what I baked!
First I started with Cornbread mini loaves…
which I forgot to snap a picture of once completed. Well at least I thought I did take one but I am not sure what happened. But they were delicious! The box made 3 mini loaves and my kids and husband enjoyed them for breakfast this week.
Then I moved onto sugar cookies…. My family LOVES sugar cookies, well actually they like any kind of cookies, but sugar cookies seem to be a big favorite. I’ve made them over and over again but this was the first time I used the Krusteaz mix.
The girls wanted them to be festive for the holiday so right before they were done, I pulled them out and added some sprinkles. I wanted to make sure they stuck to the cookies and didn’t just roll off. Once I sprinkled them on, I used my spatula to press them into the cookie a little bit. And it worked great!
The cookies were so good and crunchy. I may have left them in just a tad bit to long, but that didn’t stop my family from devouring them.
Then I moved onto the Crumb Cake! I had originally planned on adding apples to this but my husband doesn’t like apples and asked me not to include them so he can have some too. I’m really glad I did because he loves it!
I used a small rectangular pan – a brownie pan- and it was perfect.
It was super moist and the house smelled amazing. These don’t really fit into my diet but I did taste it. My youngest was in heaven and asked me to make it again before she even finished it! This will be a regular in our house and it’s so easy to make.
This was the first time I used the Krusteaz baking mixes but it definitely won’t be the last. This is one part of my job that I love – getting to try things that I may not have normally tried.
Are you baking for the holiday? If you need a short cut grab some Krusteaz mixes to help you along the way. And let me know what you make.
Disclosure: I received a Free product for review. My opinions are 100% mine.
