We love Michael Angelo’s entrees and I like to have some in the freezer for nights when I need a quick meal.  As a matter of fact I made a few for my mom when she was over once and I have her hooked on them.  And then she got a friend of her’s hooked!  She’s always asking me if I have any coupons for more Michale Angelo’s products.  So needless to say I was very excited to be able to try Michael Angelo’s newest line of Italian Flatbread, including Pepperoni & Salami Flatbread, Mediterranean Flatbread, and Sausage & Mushroom Flatbread.  They are currently available at Walmart stores across the nation and will be in more places very soon.

Michael Angelo’s new Italian Flatbread offerings encourage our customers to do just that – experience delicious, home-style Italian for an appetizer, light lunch, after-school snack, party offering or meal starter. And, just like all Michael Angelo’s meals, the creation of the flatbread line started with its ingredients.

Every ingredient is selected with care by Michael and his mom, Sara, and is free of the common preservatives, artificial flavors, additives and stabilizers found in most prepared and frozen foods.

I was lucky enough to meet Sara at a conference a few years ago as she served up some of the delicious products.  That was the first time I had tried them.  It’s nice to see the person behind the story.  It makes it more real.

Like I mentioned above, there are three varieties:

• Pepperoni & Salami Flatbread which includes pepperoni, salami, authentic mozzarella and imported Italian Romano cheese on a spicy arrabbiata tomato sauce.
• Mediterranean Flatbread which is a vegetarian option featuring artichokes, roasted corn, roasted red peppers, authentic mozzarella and imported Italian Romano cheese on a delicate cream sauce.
• Sausage & Mushroom Flatbread which is a classic, topped with sliced Italian sausage, mushrooms, caramelized onions, authentic mozzarella and imported Italian Romano cheese on a vine-ripened traditional tomato sauce.

I’ve tried the Mediterranean and Sausage & Mushroom and loved them both!  They are so full of flavor that it’s hard to believe they are not homemade.  My mother loves the Sausage & Mushroom and can’t stop boasting about them.  These are prefect to have with a salad for a quick dinner or big lunch.
