I’m so excited to share with you that I am a Nutrisystem Nation Blogger and I’ll be following the Nutrisystem program and sharing my weekly progress right here on the blog.
This was probably the first week in a weight-loss program where I did not feel hungry at all. It’s also probably the first time in a weight-loss program that I’ve felt guilty for eating so many good things, including muffins for breakfast and cookies for dessert! I’ve seen the commercials and you may have too but I figured the food wasnt that good.
Well in my opinion is really is!
I just completed my first week on Nutrisystem and I’m happy to report I had a really nice weight loss. Before I give you my number, I want to explain that I retain a lot of water on a regular basis. I’ve often wondered if it’s because of the high number of carbs I consume on a daily basis because I am normally a carb junkie. But whenever I start a diet and I follow it properly, I always lose a lot of water weight the first week. Well this diet was no exception. With all the water I drank the first day I was in the bathroom about every hour! So I knew I’d see a significant weight loss. I also have a lot of weight to lose. Ultimately over 100 lbs so the more you have to lose, the more you’ll lose in the beginning.
So now you’re wondering how I did? Well I’m excited to tell you that in the first week of Nutrisystem I lost 8.8 lbs! And I can already see the difference.
On Monday of last week I went to buy a new outfit to wear for my daughter’s 1st Communion which was yesterday. I picked out a nice pair of slacks and a pretty spring top. I didn’t want to wear a dress because I have a big ole black boot on my foot because I have a stress fracture. Hopefully that is coming off next week, fingers crossed! But anyways, the slacks I bought were a bit snug, but it was all hidden under my blouse. I knew that they would fit me better in no time since I just started Nutrisystem and I knew I was bloated! And I was correct, they fit me much better and I felt so confident because I know I’m just at the beginning of the journey.
Now, I may sound very positive right now and while I will try to stay that way each week, I do know I will have some struggles but it’s the only way I will get there and I believe it’s part of the process. One of the reasons I haven’t made my goal yet in the past, is once I get to a certain weight I feel so comfortable that I stop paying attention and then I start to slowly gain it back. But I do have the confidence if I can get past that point (it’s usually around 30 lbs lost) then I will be able to continue. My hope is if I keep on track long enough, I’ll just develop better habits to avoid it going back on again.
I have a long road ahead of me, and anyone who wants to join me can check in each Monday as I post my results.
Are you working on any weight-loss or health goals? If so share them in the comments so we can all cheer you on!!

Congrats on your weight loss. I also lost weight on Nutrisystems, but I got to where I could not stand the taste of the food after about 3 months. I found the thing that has worked for me is to notice the portion size of each of the nutriystem foods, and also to note the calorie count. There are lots of frozen foods on the market now that indicate the total calorie count and if you keep your calories in check you can continue to lose when you buy food in the market, and also maintain your weight goal. Good luck!!!
Thank you Jan!
Congratulations on your first week success!! I have also been trying to eat healthier (no processed food) as a result of a surprise “mini heart attack”. I was very lucky as I caught it before it became a full one.(58 is too young for this stuff!!!) I’m now watching salt/sugar/fat and just about everything else! LOL My hardest thing is, I LOVE dairy. I’ve been trying to eat alot of beans, rice and veggies. I don’t know how much weight I’ll loose (I could stand to loose about 60 lbs!) but if I’m healthier by what I eat I’m hoping that will encourage me to start a mild exercise workout. I’ll be following your progress and cheering you on..keep us posted!
Wow Lynn that is scary! I’m glad you have the chance to turn things around. Good luck and keep me updated. I’ll cheer you on as well!
Congratulations Karen on your weight loss. I am also a carb addict. Last year I lost 20lbs. and gained it back. Its so easy to gain it back. I started eating healthy again and joined a gym for the first time! I just became a Grandmother and I want to be a healthy Gram for my Grandson and my family. I will be reading your blog for inspiration! Keep up the good work! Hope to see you over the summer at Kim and Steven’s house.
Thanks Karen!!!! Keep me posted on your progress, I will cheer you on as well. And I do hope to see you this summer as well, and maybe you can even come over sometime with Steven and Kim!
