I’m so excited to share with you that I am a Nutrisystem Nation Blogger and I’ll be following the Nutrisystem program and sharing my weekly progress right here on the blog.

I just completed my 2nd week on Nutrisystem and I lost an additional 2.5 lbs for a total of 11.3 lbs so far.  I’m off to a good start but still have lot to go.  I knew I wouldn’t have as big of a weight loss as last week since most of that was water weight but I’m happy to see over 2 more pounds are gone.  I’m also prepared for a much lower number next week as it should be slow, I do know that.  I’ve done this so many times and if I average about a pound a week, I’m doing well.  Considering I can easily gain 2-3 pounds a week sometimes with the way I normally eat, this is good!

Today I am heading to my doctor to see if my stress fracture is healed.  Hopefully it is and I can take this boot off my foot and begin walking my neighborhood for exercise.  I know I need to and it will help boost my weight-loss.  But I’m not sure if it’s fully healed so we’ll see.

As I mentioned last week I really enjoy most of the meals.  I add at least two veggies to each lunch and dinner which makes the meals even bigger so I am never hungry and always satisfied.  Here is one of my dinners from this past week…

NS Meal

I had the Beef and Wedge Potatoes Nutrisystem Meal with Multigrain Brown Rice, Sauted Squash and Red Bell Peppers.  Doesn’t that look delicious?  Well it was and I was full afterwards.  I can’t wait to get the Beef and Wedge Potatoes again because it was very yummy!  Next time I think I”ll put it right over the rice too.

I had three challenges this past week which made me have to think about what I was eating. We had friends visiting on Monday and they wanted to go to a diner for lunch.   My first thought is diner food is all fried and very fatty.  I was hesitant at first but figured I should be able to find something to eat there and if not I’d just have a little something and then eat my lunch back home.   I was happy to see they had a salad with ham, turkey and cheese but no fat-free dressing.  So I asked for oil and vinegar.   It was delicious and I was full afterwards so that worked out well.

The second challenge was this past weekend when we attended a friends’ son’s first communion dinner.   We were leaving before lunchtime because we had to drive 2 hours to the church so I knew I had to pack my lunch.  I heated up a Nutrisystem lunch and put it in a container that would keep it warm for a while.  I then grabbed some nuts for my protein and some veggies just in case I wasn’t crazy about the veggies they had for dinner, I wanted to make sure I had at least my 2 servings with lunch.  I also packed a dessert for the ride home because I knew I couldn’t have whatever would be there for dessert.  And that was fine with me.

When it was time for dinner there were three veggie offerings – salad, squash and carrots and two protein offerings – chicken and beef.  Both had gravy’s/breading’s on them but I tried to scrap off as much of it as I could.   There were also some oven roasted potatoes.   I had to have a carb with my meal and I know that sweet potatoes are a better choice but this was my only option.  So I had about a half a cup of the oven roasted potatoes and loaded my plate with the squash and carrots so I didn’t have anymore room for more potatoes.  I then estimated how many ounces of chicken and beef I had and I felt I did really well.  As I got full I took that cue and stopped eating.

I didn’t have dessert but instead had coffee, which was fine with me as the dessert wasn’t anything that really tempted me.  Then on the way home, my husband stopped so I could get a cup of coffee to enjoy my Nutrisystem Peanut Butter Cookie for dessert that I had with me.  It worked well and I ate fine all day and didn’t over eat.  I was proud of myself!

And then yesterday was Mother’s Day.  I will share that experience with you next week.

I still have a long road ahead of me, and anyone who wants to join me can check in each Monday as I post my results.
