If you’ve ever owned gold-fish then you know they don’t last long and are a lot of work to keep alive. We had our first experience with gold-fish last fall and needless to say there were tears days later. I even bought a fish bowl hoping to give them enough room to swim in. But they died one at a time and then I was done with that.
I do know other fish besides gold-fish, last longer but they are a lot of work (in my opinion) and the excitement wears off fast so I’d rather not bother.
But I found a fish I love and don’t mind putting in our now empty fish bowl. Have you seen the Robo Fish from Zuru? They are small intelligent fish that are packed with the latest technology and you don’t have to feed them! The super cool techno-toy Robo Fish replicates the natural movement of a fish. It’s about the size of the real goldfish but in most cases, has a longer life span 🙂 The technology is unique, simply drop the Robo Fish into the water to activate it and watch it swim around like the real thing!
It is seriously that easy. So now our empty fish bowl has some new tenants but when I find them belly up, all I have to do is put in a new battery and they are alive again. The perfect kind of pet! And my kids love them. I love that they come with extra batteries for when the first set die. They can die pretty fast too so I suggest that you take them out when the kids are done watching them. They too have a short life span so don’t let them swim around too long.
Everyone who comes over is fascinated with them and if you want to try them out head on over to your local CVS/pharmacy and you can find them for $9.99 each. You don’t need a real fish bowl like I used but if you have one in your basement, you might as well get use out of it. We have our sitting in the island and every now and then when the kids sit there, they toss the fish in and watch them swim. It seriously is realistic looking because they bob up and down like real fish.
The line is available in four fun fish designs and four shark designs (the ones in the pictures are sharks). You can find out more about these Robo Fish and more online at www.zuru.com.
