Scrabble

This post is Sponsored by Hasbro but my opinions are 100% my own!

Scrabble is a fun game for kids ages 8 and up but really once they start to read then they can play.  No one says the words have to be complicated or hard!  Scrabble is a great game to play with the family and also a great learning tool.  I never thought about playing scrabble in the classroom but why not?

Whether you love your SCRABBLE game straight up or have a more adventurous streak, this option-packed game is for you! Play Power Tiles to spice up your strategy and sweeten your score, Team up with a partner to trade tiles and share scores. Or mix and match options for a game that’s totally your own!

Because of the educational benefits of using SCRABBLE in the classroom, Hasbro has teamed up with teachers and community leaders to create School SCRABBLE Clubs. Designed for kids in 4th through 8th grades, School SCRABBLE Clubs can be established in the classroom, as an after-school club or through other community organizations, such as a library. Kids play in pairs, making it even more fun when they play high value letters on a triple word score! High fives for everyone!

If you are interested in starting or supporting a School SCRABBLE club, you can learn more about the program, register a club, watch videos and find tips about how to start a club at the Hasbro School SCRABBLE Club website.

As a way to bring all School SCRABBLE Clubs together, players from across the U.S. are invited to compete for the title of National School SCRABBLE champions. The 2014 National School SCRABBLE Tournament will take place at Hasbro’s new facilities in Providence, Rhode Island on April 25-27.  That is right in my home state!  You can find more information about that HERE.

I’m going to look into starting a Scrabble Club at our school next year since my oldest will be in 4th grade.  I think it would be a lot of fun for them and a great learning experience.   My daughter’s are excited to play Scrabble now that we have it, and so am I!  It’ll be a great Family Game Night Game.

You can purchase Scrabble where games are sold and online at Target for about $14.99.
