Product Name: Tide Coldwater

Product Information:Tide Coldwater is specially formulated to clean in cold water conditions better than the next leading regular liquid detergent in warm. And, with Tide Coldwater, you can save money on your energy bill.In fact, you can save up to 80% of energy in every load.

How it Works

Like most Tide detergents, Tide Coldwater contains surfactants. Surfactant molecules have two parts. One is “water loving” and the other is “water hating.” The water-loving (hydrophilic) part breaks the surface tension of water. The water-hating (hydrophobic) part is attracted to oil and grease in soils, loosening and removing them from fabrics.

Tide Coldwater is specially designed with an increased amount of surfactant chemistry (as compared to regular Tide) that allows it to penetrate easily into fabrics. Tide Coldwater is also specially formulated with an increased amount of polymer technology (as compared to regular Tide) to suspend dirt particles to help prevent them from redepositing on fabrics, helping keep both your colors bright and your whites white.

My Thoughts: I was hesitant at first to try the Tide Coldwater because I wasn’t convinced that it would work. I was taught that hot water cleans stains. But since they sent me a bottle I figured I had nothing to lose so I gave it a whirl.

My daughters, especially my oldest is constantly spilling food all over herself. And I’ll admit, some of them are permanently stained because they weren’t properly cleaned. I guess that hot water isn’t working out so well for me. So I took all the girls clothes one day, and made sure some of them had some dirt/drinks/food spills to test out the Tide Coldwater. I set my washer to cold water and washed them.

The results? They were clean! So it worked. I will now continue to use Tide Coldwater – as long as I get it on sale!
