I’m working with Great Value brand products again and this time it’s for Valentine’s Day! If you remember around the holidays, I made some fun recipes and used Great Value brand products. Well, I’m doing it again and I’ve prepared a few fun things for the kids to enjoy for Valentine’s Day! They love all my creative baking and are very excited for what we will be making this weekend.
The challenge this time around was to use some Great Value cookie mix and pastry/pizza dough. I am a simple cook and when thinking of what I could do with both of these items, I thought at kid level – what would my kids enjoy? Because really Valentine’s Day isn’t just for my husband and I anymore, it’s for the kids too!
Here is what I’ll be making:
Mini Heart Personal Pizzas – Both girls love pizza, as do my husband and I so I thought this would be really fun to make. And I’m hoping the cookie cutters will be easy to use to use on the raw dough, but if not I’ll bake it a little first then cut out the hearts. Should be fun and good too.
Here is what I’ll be using in this recipe:
- Great Value Pizza Crust Dough
- Mini pepperoni
- Shredded mozzarella Cheese
- Pizza Sauce
- Heart Shaped Cookie Cutter
Then I figured we could make a FUN Dessert with the prepared cookie dough. Here is what I came up with:
Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches with Red Sprinkles – Remember I’m a simple person that cooks simple. Complicated recipes are not me, fun recipes is what I like! So we are going to make some Chocolate Chip cookies and use them to make Ice Cream Sandwiches and to give them a Valentine’s Twist, we’ll be rolling them in red sprinkles! The girls are super excited about this and can’t wait to make them, and of course then eat them!!
Here is what I’ll be using in this recipe:
- Great Value Chocolate Chip prepared cookie dough
- French Vanilla Ice Cream
- Red Sprinkles
Both of the recipes will be fun and easy to make but especially with using time-saving products like Great Value brand prepared pizza dough and cookie dough. Both of those items I could make from scratch but we are so busy every week, that easy ingredients like these are number one in my book!
Next week I’ll share our creations with you. Can’t wait to see how they both come out!
